Imad Alarnab was one of the most famous chefs in Damascus, but when the war arrived two of his restaurants were bombed and Imad decided to flee the Syrian capital in July 2015 in search of a safer life for him and his family.
When he first arrived in the UK, Imad worked as a car salesman but with the help of a few charities, including our members Help Refugees, he began cooking again and ran a series of successful pop-ups in London, including a few supper clubs at our space in Holland Park.
To celebrate Refugee Week, Imad’s Syrian Kitchen will be returning to Second Home for a week long residency. Taking over our courtyard cafe, Imad will be cooking up a storm with a different Syrian speciality served everyday and his FAMOUS falafels!
